‘Guardians Of The Galaxy 2’ Announced For July 2017

Guardians of the GalaxydirectorJames Gunnwill return to write and direct theGuardians of the Galaxy sequel. The entire Guardians cast is also expected to return. James tweeted out the following after the presentation:

Last week, I asked if it would be able to let anyone else play with these characters, considering he was such an author of the first film.
Nope. Nope. [Marvel] will do what they want eventually but I’ll have a very hard time letting go of Rocket and Groot.
Talking toScreenrant, though, he was a bit more specific:
I’m actually in a somewhat weird position because if the movie does well, then I’m gonna make the sequel. And if it does okay then, well, I’ve already been offered other movies but I can only do those other movies if I don’t do the sequel, so it’s a weird situation.
Guardians of the Galaxy ends with the declaration they’ll return so this isn’t a huge surprise in anyway. The bigger question is, when will the film be scheduled for release (especially considering Zoe Saldana’s Avatar shooting schedule) and who will appear.
