Varietyhas an article talking with Electronic Arts executives about their ten year deal to makeStar Warsgames. The first one,Star Wars: Battlefront, will be out in 2015 around the same time asStar Wars Episode VII, and the fact the two are unrelated is the point. EA will not be making games that specifically tie into the new movies, instead focusing on “the world that’s been created around ‘Star Wars.'” Read more at that link.

Jason Flemyng

The quotes in the below caption suggest otherwise, but it’s worth pointing out actorJason Flemyng(best known for his work in Guy Ritchie and Matthew Vaughn films)posted this imageto Instagram. Best case, the script page is for aStar Wars Episode VIIaudition, but not from the film itself. What do you think?

UPDATE: Flemyng deleted the image, but here’s a screencap.

While Flemyng may or may not be up for the film,Bleeding Coolis reportingMatt Smith, the most recentDoctor Who, auditioned for a role inEpisode VII. Fans would probably go nuts if that happened.

Open auditions for the younger roles inStar Wars Episode VIIare still going strong. An audition outside of Detroit drew about 2000 people, with casting directors asking each person one or two quick questions before sending them on their way (read more at theDetroit News). Then the response was so huge overseas, the Glasgow open auditionswere postponedto find a new, bigger, venue.

For a few weeks now actorDavid Oyelowo, fromLee Daniels’ The ButlerandRise of the Planet of the Apes, has been rumored to be up forStar Wars Episode VIIorStar Wars: Rebels. That means everywhere he goes, he’s being bombarded by questions with no real answers.E! Onlinehas a collection of quotes from the actor, with this one being the best.

Everyone is asking me aboutStar Wars,The breaking news is J.J. Abrams is going to give you that breaking news….I’d go anywhere to work with J.J. Abrams. I think what he did withStar Trekwas so extraordinary…And I think what he’ll do withStar Warswill be just as impressive.

Finally, here’s an extremely coolEpisode VII-esque fan film from directorTodd Sandler. It’s calledStar Wars: The Apprentice.
