The Last Airbender: Olympics TV Spot

Paramount Pictures has premiered a new television spot forM. Night Shyamalan’sThe Last Airbenderduring the Olympics on Saturday. I was somewhatimpressed by the original teaser trailerwhich accomplished everything in one continuous (yet stitched together) shot. Butthe television spot which aired during the Super Bowlhad me completely sold. To me that spot had all the power ofthe Lord of the Ringstrilogy. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying the film will live up to that expectation — but the tv spot was pretty damn awesome. The full length movie trailerwasn’t quite as impressive. The new tv spot brings the focus back to the action visuals, which appears to be the film’strong spot . Watch it now, after the jump. Please leave your thoughts in the comments below.

Official Plot Synopsis: Based on the hugely successful Nickelodeon animated TV series, the live-action feature film is set in a world where human civilization is divided into four nations: Water, Earth, Air and Fire. Aided by a protective teenage Waterbender named Katara (Nicola Peltz) and her bull-headed brother Sokka, Aang proceeds on a perilous journey to restore balance to their war-torn world.Dev Patelplays the Fire Nation’s evil prince Zuko. Exiled from the Fire Nation by his father, Zuko is sent to capture the Avatar in order to restore his honor and right to the throne.
